The LM-Well is an open microfluidic well-insert device capable of generating multiple microenvironmental niches within a single well of a 24-well plate. We demonstrate that the LM-Well can be utilized to pattern oxygen-scavenging capsules to modulate tumor growth and zonation of hepatic activities in a single platform, and can incorporate microarchitectural supports to optimally support mechanically-sensitive muscle cells.
