13 Jan 2020 – Dr Akshaya Srinivasan successfully completed her PhD thesis defence on “Neural Crest Derived Ectomesenchymal Stem Cells For Craniofacial Regeneration”. Even though I cannot join in person, I am glad to still share this momentous event with you through virtual meeting!
The second half of 2019 has been a really eventful year for our lab. We had a strong contingent at a number of major international major conferences. Our PhD students, Nina Chang and Chak Ming Leung, both had their work selected for oral presentations at TERMIS-AP, Brisbane Australia in Sept. For MicroTAS held in Basel, Switzerland, we had our fellows, Hsih Yin Tan and Chris Tostado both giving outstanding oral presentations while Terry Ching and Chak Ming had the chance to share their work at the poster sessions. Finally, Terry gave an oral presentation about 3D printed vasculatures at ICBME in Dec. It has been a fantastic year for the MicroTE Lab!
5 Nov 2019 – Chong Lor Huai for successfully completing her viva for her thesis project on “Development of in vitro models for predicting systemic drug-induced skin sensitization”. Well done Dr Chong!
I am extremely honoured to receive the 2019 Global 3Rs Award sponsored by AAALAC International and the IQ Consortium for our paper on using modular microfluidics to mimic multi-organ systemic interactions.
